Site update

If you’ve visited here before, you may notice some differences. That’s because I took full advantage of my day off yesterday to move Madness & Truth from the Movable Type platform to a Wordpress platform. This has led to a bit of a different look, but the primary reason was to make site administration simpler on my end. Movable Type is a powerful platform but it can be clunky and I had all sorts of problems getting things to work right. Wordpress is a lot smoother.

(Alas, I discovered only after manually moving everything over that Wordpress has an automatic tool to import Movable Type blogs. Still, I don’t think I would have done anything better with that hour.)

The only upshot for readers is that my RSS feed has now changed. If you subscribed to my old feed, you need to update your feed URL to

UPDATE: One thing I forgot to mention is a side benefit of a technology experiment I did a few weeks ago. If you came here from Twitter or Facebook, you came via a shortened link at the domain. That’s a custom URL shortener that functions like But the nice thing about having my own URL shortener is I could go back in and update all the short URLs I’ve created – previously pointing to my Movable Type blog – and redirect them to point to the new Wordpress blog. So anyone stumbling across old Facebook links to these stories will get to the right place.
