Film students rely on Pierre hospitality during voyage
Shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, Pierre resident Guy Ferris was fishing with his son when he received an unusual phone call.
Two students from a New York City college were sitting in a parking lot in Pierre, wondering if they could sleep in Ferris’ home that night.
Ferris had never met or heard of the pair, but said yes after a few minute’s conversation and left to meet the students.
In their own car, Greg Grano turned off the video camera he used to film Sarah Sellman’s phone conversation with Ferris. Both students were happy — another night had gone according to plan. (Pierre Capital Journal, 06/29/2010)
